Day 24: Temptation

Temptation is something everyone faces at some point in life, and Lilly is certainly being put through such a test right this very moment. She had made a nice batch of chocolate chip cookies the other day, and today, she was only down to just two left after eating a couple earlier in the day. As she looked at the cookies in the bag, she frowned, wondering what she would do. Should she eat them now, or should she try and save them for the next day so that she can extend her enjoyment of them further? Instant gratification, or delayed gratification? The temptation in the moment was incredible. The sweet deliciousness of the chocolate in a nice and chewy cookie form... she loved it! However, if she were to eat them now, she'd have no cookies left for tomorrow, and on top of that, she'd need to buy the ingredients to make some more again... With a sigh, Lilly musters up what willpower she has and pushes the bag of cookies a bit farther back on the counter, resisting the temptation for now. It was a great and personal battle in her mind, but she'd rather have a bit of extra sweet enjoyment later rather than now-- especially since she already had some cookies today.
