Foxtober Prompt: Moon

A luxurious orb shone far above the land, a gentle light far from similar to the Sun's- lighting up dark trails and streets. It almost felt as if it was shimmering with how beautiful it was. The light shone on a small balcony, where numerous plants sat- the glass door locked shut.
Clarine sat on her couch in her small living room- the light from the moon shining into her apartment and lighting it up. It mixed well with the candles she had scattered throughout.

There was a neighbourhood power outage, whatever that was, so Clarine was stuck in the dark with nothing but the candles and light from the moon to show the way. Atop her lap sat Cat.

It was making more engine noises, in which Clarine discovered means its content. She had brought Cat home after meeting him in a park, where he was alone and cold- quite hungry as well. Vulcan had given her food for Cat, which was literally called "Cat" food! He must be special to have a brand named after him.
Clarine glanced towards the balcony, having a good view of it, she could see the shining moon outside. With a heavy sigh- she glanced away. Back in the pocket dimension she once resided, she remembered the moon always being a bloody red. Not once had it ever been white.

She remembered pondering this while at the small party she attended, as well, where she let the moon jar glow under the calming light.

Clarine re-opened her ruby eyes, glancing down at Cat vibrating on her lap. She had been feeding him, playing with him, and letting him sleep in her bed with her. It seemed that Cat enjoyed being taken care of.
She had also gotten a strange box called a "Litter box.". Apparently, its purpose was a toilet- but for small creatures such as himself. She had been told to clean it whenever he used it, which was a bit strange, but she was thankful he was a small creature instead of a human. That would've been disgusting.

She leaned back into the couch, leaning her head towards the ceiling and closing her eyes. Quietly, she rested her shoulders and slowly lost consciousness.

Cat continued to sleep soundly under the moonlight.
