Noir’s Journal, Excursion Brii

Hey all! Brii here, I found Noir’s book, or journal as she calls it. So I thought I should write my own entry, which I am sure she wouldn’t mind, haha. Well today I was going to search for Poseidon again so I actually made him some clothes beforehand, because I Knew he would ask for one again if he showed up. It was a nice beach towel, but in the form of a cape, and some shell bracelets. But first I decided to find my good friend, Grand Endeavor. It’s still been a good while since I’ve seen him. I’m not actually sure where he lives though, I guessed it may have been somewhere secluded since he’s not really much into being around a lot of foxes. I had to write my journey down in this book because it was so special to me, well most of them are, but this one most of all. So first I made sure Noir was still asleep, she was so I headed out the door. Next I went to a shop that sold sweets and bought a few pastries from there, one for myself and I thought Endeavor may want some food so I left the rest for him. He usually only eats fruit, but maybe he’ll try something different. Poseidon could wait for a bit, I just want to see my friend again. And Maybe afterwards he would want to see Poseidon again too. I hung the clothes around my shoulder and started towards the forest path Noir led me through the last time we were out. I could see a mountain range not too far from where the forest ended. So I went. It was probably not a good idea to go alone but I didn’t care for the time being, plus all the animals i saw the last time didn’t look harmful at all. I traveled for a while, the weather was actually quite nice for a summer day. I stopped in a few flower patches to gather some Noir may want to look at, some I liked, and even one for Endeavor, it was a bright yellow flower, it looked as if it were almost glowing. I thought it would match his yellow eyes. I got back up and started towards the mountain range, as soon as I got there I knew he must be in one of them. Noir used to live in one before she met me and moved. There was a hole in the part of the mountain where she was. There were a few holes in the mountains I saw up there, but I could sort of sense where Endeavor was, I’m not sure what it was about him but his presence could always seem to be felt even when he wasn’t there. It felt more strong today, so I held onto the clothes and bag of pastries and flowers, then started the journey up the mountain. Well, I used one of Noir’s levitation spells, I can not climb whatsoever. She taught me how to use a few if I were ever out without her. Anyway once I got to the entrance of the mountain home, I could see the glow of yellow within, this was him. His home was pretty dark, even for the day time, thankfully the bright yellow flower emitted light surprisingly, but before I went in I yelled his name, Endeavor! Grand Endeavor!  I saw his empty yellow eyes open and he stared forward right at me. He had gotten awfully well at tracking noises and where they come from. Of course he recognized my voice and stepped forward from the darkness. The tip of his ears were bent downward for some reason, he still looked the same except..he had one of the rarest features I had ever seen on a fox! A special trait! His teeth were all gone, and all he had left were these weird jagged edges for a mouth. I was deeply surprised so I set Posiedon’s clothes down, the pastries and all the flowers except the bright yellow one. I asked what had happened, he didn’t know, except that he woke up one day and he felt different. He knew what he had become, hollow. He thought he must have done something the All Mother didn't like. So she must have cursed him, he thought. But We still aren’t sure what being hollow truly means here, all I hoped for is that he wouldn’t get hurt, or worse..I told him that wasn’t true, and that maybe becoming hollow isn’t all that bad. I wanted to change the subject so I held the yellow flower in front of him, I said it was for him, to lighten up his place. A little smile appeared, and I did too, I could still see that he could show emotion, that was good enough for me. I didn’t want to lose my friend. He took the flower and set it in a jar he had sitting on what looked like a shelf, it made his entire place become a little brighter. It was still dark, but not pitch black anymore. Endeavor came back out but he still looked a little down so I asked if he wanted to come with me to deliver these clothes to Posiedon. He needed to get out of this mountain for a while, to my surprise he agreed! He was really good at getting down so he allowed me to hop on his shoulders. I screamed weeeeee! The whole way down, haha. Once we got down I grabbed one of his fingers and started to pull him in the direction of the sea again. We got through the forest pretty easily, I took the shortcut Noir did on our journey. And here we were! The sea, I let go of Endeavor and he stepped out near the water to listen to the waves while I stuck my head into the water, it worked last time so maybe it would again. And almost instantly he appeared! Poseidon made a huge splash out of the water and landed right in front of us. He noticed Endeavor’s change in appearance but did not acknowledge it. I told him that I had prepared him an outfit already, So I gave him the clothing I had and he smiled and immediately put it on. Then he started running around so his beach towel cape would flow in the wind, I laughed, and his shell bracelets jerked as he ran. But as soon as he came, he left. It was a fun experience once again, I didn’t want Endeavor to go home just yet, so I asked if we could stay out here on the beach a little longer, he bowed his head once at me and turned back towards the sea. Something still didn’t seem quite right, so I stood next to him and looked up. He must've known I did, because he looked down at me, I smiled. He did not, he looked worried still. I signed and reminded him. I told him no matter what, he would always remain my friend, and to not let being hollow change that, ever. Then I put my hand in his, and held it. To let him know I wasn’t going anywhere. He let out a small sigh, and pulled me into a hug, then let me go and gently patted my head, and repeated, “No matter what” and added “..you will have my gratitude.”
