Noir’s Journal, Excursion One

It has been a long time since I have been outside of my home in the mountains. Of course it is where I belong, however the outside world has seemed to be losing its touch on me. So, today I thought it would have been a great day to go out and search, but for what? I did not know what to look for, but I had read in one of my books about a place on the coast of the Hidden Garden, that hidden in its sands is treasure! Somewhere, though some spots are said to have nothing but air. Me and Gia, my little GeGe lizard, packed up and headed out for the day. Gia was particularly excited, I could tell, it was wagging its tail and spinning little circles. Which, was odd looking behavior to me, but I suppose it was just really happy. Anyway, we both headed out, Gia on my shoulder. First, we stopped by some of the stands Brii had told me about the other day. Apparently she, and her friend Endeavor had gone out to do the exact same thing I am attempting today. She said that there was a really good fruit stand out there, so I went. And I was pleasantly surprised at how good the fruit tasted. I have not asked what they had found just yet, something I will do when I get back, and then we can compare our treasures. I would like to see what she had found. Anyway, after me and Gia left the fruit stand, we started to head towards a gap in the garden, one that leads to the coast. There I knew some item was waiting to be found. Once we got to the sand i was not really sure where to start, but first I simply took in the view, it was incredibly nice, and calm there. I heard the crashing of waves and gusts of wind breeze by, I loved it, and so did Gia who immediately jumped off my shoulder and ran around in the sand. I made sure to watch it, but I did not lose track. I stood in the water for a few minutes, and I let the waves crash into my feet. It felt nice for the first time actually. Again, it has been some time since I have been outside of my home. Me and Gia both sat down for a while before I started the dig. I dug my feet into the sand, it felt off, but also sort of soft, a new feeling I thought. We just sat and listened to the waves, and I saw something from afar. It looked like some sort of fish tail, but I brushed it off as just some mystical fish. Then I saw it again, but this time closer and I could see the scales shine brightly from my view point. Suddenly a giant wave appeared and crashed down very close to us. I grabbed Gia and jumped back just in time before the wave hit us. I looked up and saw him. This was indeed a treasure. But you would be surprised, for I did not find just any type of treasure, but the god of the sea himself, Poseidon! Never in my lifespan would I have ever imagined encountering one of our gods. It was surreal in a way, he looked magnificent. However, It was an odd encounter, because he came up to me and asked for a new outfit. I asked why he would need such a thing since he lives in the sea. But then I thought to myself, maybe I was missing something. There is a lot I have yet to discover about this world since I have only been as far as the edge of my porch. Still, I am not sure on why I chose to live in such a place. But, I thought maybe this god was just wanting to get closer to us regular scarfoxes, so I agreed to help him. He is a pleasant being to be around, though. But I did not know what he would like. All I wear is a cloak and glasses. My eyesight is poor, but I can navigate pretty well. Anyway, Poseidon told me that he was looking for something that us “land dwellers” wear, so that he could fit in with us up here every once in a while. This still seemed a little weird to me, but I did not protest. So I suggested we go to some of the clothing shops around here, I remembered where they were. Of course Brii told me all about them when she and Endeavor would go to play, they seem to be getting along well, and I think it is nice since I can not seem to find enough free time with my schedule, and she understands that. But I still feel a little off by it. This journal is going to be all over the place, I keep getting off track. Well, let us get back on, I took Poseidon to the shops around the Garden, he seemed especially fond of the glasses stand, except these particular ones had black lenses, but you could still see out of them. I suppose they may have helped users see clearly while in the blinding light of the sun. I asked if he would like a pair, and he happily accepted, then proceeded to wear them the rest of our trip. Next he saw some other foxes wearing nice shirts and asked where he could find some. I then led him to a store that sold similar shirts and he picked out one that had tons of tropical flowers and vines on it, the colors clashed very well with his. I thought he looked nicely, and so did he as he stared at himself in the mirror for some time. After a while Posiedon was ready to head back, and so we went. Once we got back to the water he thanked me for granting him a chance to wander around the land with me, and get him “land clothing.” Then before he left he conjured up some type of spell, something I have never seen before, and in his hand appeared a magnificent gem. It wasn’t a pearl, for sure. This was some type of gem, again, something I have yet to see in my books. He put the gem in my hands and I looked down at it, amazed by Its color, and texture. But before I could ask what kind it was, he was gone. I looked around, left and right, for a splash or any sign of movement, there was none. Then Gia crawled onto the gem and looked at me, and I at it. We both knew that this was no normal gem, and this is where my journey ends. An encounter like this, must be documented, and from then on I will continue to record my findings. I will keep this journal updated.
